Growing up in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Amy knew she had an interest in health and wellness from an early age. This interest stemmed from her passion for dance and understanding the connection between health and performance. When she realized she would no longer be dancing competitively after high school, she knew she needed to find a way to maintain an active lifestyle and then found a drive for success inside the gym.
Amy graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in nutrition and exercise physiology and a minor in psychology. While attending college, she began working at MizzouRec as a group fitness instructor which eventually led her to start her career as a personal trainer. Working with people one-on-one allowed her to understand how functional movement can increase an individual's quality of life at all ages.
The approach that Focus on Health takes on fitness is what drew Amy to this clinic. She believes as important it is to move your body often, it’s even more important to move your body well. She views exercise as a well rounded tool with benefits extending beyond the gym and wants to help people build that bridge from The Movement Lab to their daily lives... ultimately unlocking their fullest potential!
