The Adjustment Isn't Everything

A chiropractic manipulation or an “adjustment” is a treatment method that involves a quick force to one or more joints that are not moving as freely as they should. The quick force that is applied may allow for the joints to have improved range of motion, pain relief, and lead to healthier joints.

However, as beneficial as the adjustment might be, it is a rented-change. That rented-change should be supplemented by additional movements to make it an owned-change. In other words, the exercises and movements you do following an adjustment are what allow you to own the change! As described in the previous blog, ““R” You Ready For Exercise?” by Dr. Ryan, the adjustment is a RESET that can possibly get you back to moving without pain. While the exercises performed after the adjustment, is the REINFORCEMENT that makes the pain-free movement you’ve gained, stick around.

At Focus On Health, we know this and are ready to give you exercises that make the adjustment more effective for you. So, while the adjustment may feel great, remember, what you do after is what’s going to make the most change to get you back to doing what you love!
