Dr. Curt Kippenberger
“I have a deep passion to educate each of our patients in health, exercise, and nutrition.”
With his positive attitude, caring approach, and attention to detail, Dr. Curt Kippenberger develops conservative treatment plans individualized for each patient. He is committed to empowering his patients in making conscious health and wellness decisions.
Dr. Curt began his journey in health care while attending Rolla High School. As a wrestler, he knew he had to take care of his body to endure the rigors of the season. This knowledge led him to the University of Missouri where he studied Human Exercise Sciences and Nutrition. Here, Dr. Curt worked with the Tiger football team as a student athletic trainer. During this time, he became recognized as a strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Dr. Curt began racing bicycles competitively in 2000 with the Mizzou Cycling Team. While racing, he found that his journey to understanding the human body was far from over.
With his cycling knowledge, and understanding of the human frame, Dr. Curt began working with other cyclists as a coach and bicycle fitness specialist. While working at Walt’s Bicycle Shop, he noticed many cyclists suffering from lower back pain and decreased flexibility due to poor cycling posture. After exploring many avenues to address these concerns, Dr. Curt decided to enroll at Logan College of Chiropractic. During his time at Logan, he attended several post-graduate seminars in the areas of functional rehabilitation, pediatrics, acupuncture, sacral occipital technique, and motion palpation. Dr. Curt gained the opportunity to work with Dr. Crystal Peairs at Lafayette Square Chiropractic before graduating from Logan. Through his training at Logan, and his experiences prior, Dr. Curt caters to athletes of all levels, children, families and adults of all ages. He is a member of the Missouri State Chiropractic Association, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, and the Cherry Hill Business Association.
Dr. Curt founded Focus On Health in Columbia, Missouri in 2009. He and his wife Krista enjoy working together in the clinic. When not working, the two flee to the outdoors with their two Brittany Spaniels, Parker and Payton. Dr. Curt still occasionally competes as a category 2 road cyclist, and a category 1 mountain bike racer. Both Curt and Krista are avid cyclists and aspiring rock climbers who enjoy hiking, camping, backpacking and floating the many beautiful Missouri river ways.
Krista Kippenberger
“I don’t see how people can live without a chiropractor in the house. If I wake up with a muscle cramp, or a kink in my neck, I usually have it taken care of before I get out of bed!”
As the co-founder of Focus On Health, Krista Kippenberger is vital to our connection with the surrounding community. Many of our patients meet Krista at business networking events. She is the energy behind our news, events, charity drives and social media efforts.
Krista is a Rolla, MO native and a Mizzou alumnus. With a background in chemistry and biology, Krista adds a unique perspective to Focus On Health. Her experience in teaching and serving as the department chair of the Pharmacy Technician program at Anthem College led Krista down the path of excellence. In 2009, she was the recipient of the Master Teacher Award.
Krista also implemented philanthropic promotions for her students: “Cash for Cans” helped students pay for books and tuition while the introduction to “The Brian” served as an integral study aid for the Pharmacy Technician Certification exam. Krista has continued her dedication serving Columbia by volunteering for the Central Missouri Humane Society as a foster parent and organizing philanthropic drives for Focus On Health.
In her spare time, Krista enjoys DIY home remodeling, reading and taking her two “boys” to the dog park.
Patsy Winn
When you walk into our clinic, Patsy’s bright smile is likely to be the first thing you see. She looks forward to welcoming each of our patients at Focus On Health’s reception area. If you have any questions regarding our office, your insurance benefits, or how chiropractic may be able to help you, Patsy has the answer.
Patsy came to Focus On Health as an employee just before the close of 2011, but she was no stranger to the office. She discovered the benefits of chiropractic care when Dr. Curt began treating her son. From the very first treatment, he could feel vast improvements in his condition. Because of her son’s involvement with sports, Dr. Curt was able to relate to him very well. After getting to know the staff through repeated visits, Patsy joined the team at Focus On Health. Since then, Patsy, her husband, and all three of her children have experienced the benefits of chiropractic care.
Patsy and her family relocated from Kansas City to Columbia in 2003. When Patsy is not in the office, she spends the majority of her time taxiing her children to their various activities and sporting events. Patsy also enjoys reading, traveling and attempts to scrapbook when time permits.
Jennifer Stringham
After being a Focus On Health patient herself, and seeing the benefits of chiropractic care in her own life, Jennifer joined the team. Born and raised in Columbia, Missouri, she suffered from severe seasonal allergies as well as slight scoliosis. After Dr. Curt and his team implemented a treatment plan specifically for her, she quickly became a spokesperson telling everyone she could about her positive experience.
She works part time at the chiropractic clinic and enjoys the relaxed work atmosphere that Focus On Health offers. She looks forward to meeting and getting to know each and every person that walks through the door and to make each patient feel at home. She truly believes that chiropractic care has changed her life and looks forward to seeing and hearing about how it helps current and future patients.
Nicole Shelton
“What can I say… I have a fun job. Every day I get to help people in alleviating their pain and focusing on a solution to help their overall health.”
A hop, skip, and a short jump down from Rolla hails Nicole Shelton from Sullivan, Missouri. Nicole has always been interested in the human body and anatomy. After visiting the Body World exhibit hosted by the St. Louis Science Center, she decided to enroll in the Massage Therapy program at Metro Business College in 2008. Prior to graduation in June 2009, she received her first job as a licensed massage therapist at Cherry Hill Massage. During her first two years as a therapist, she primarily specialized in deep tissue and sports massage therapy.
In early 2011, Nicole was looking for something different within the field of soft tissue manipulation. She joined Focus On Health in February as a Chiropractic Technician. You may find her assisting Dr. Curt with soft tissue manipulation, demonstrating exercises, taking X-rays or helping out at the front desk. She is a key component in the day-to-day operations of our business. Wherever you cross paths with Nicole, you will certainly be happy you did.
When Nicole has down time, she loves to play volleyball, tennis or spend time with her family.
Amber Treece
“I consider myself a little bit of a workaholic. I love to learn new things and usually have several projects going at once. That being said, I know how important it is to take care of your body.”
Amber is Focus On Health’s third Rolla native. She serves our patients and assists Dr. Curt as a Chiropractic Technician.
Amber graduated from the Massage Therapy Institute of Missouri in 2009. After graduation, Amber began working at Moon Valley Massage as a licensed therapist. Amber has always considered herself a “nurturing old soul” and always knew she was meant to help people.
Outside of Focus On Health, you can find Amber helping people relax with massage at The Beach Salon or behind the bar making your favorite cocktail at Room 38 Restaurant and Lounge. In Amber’s free time she loves to open a good book and relax with her boyfriend and her three dogs.

Jeremy Lee
Jeremy Lee is one of the Practice Representatives at Focus On Health. It is his mission to help Focus On Health to reach as many patients as possible.
He grew up in a Ashland, Missouri and came from a great family that taught him that respect and loyalty get you far in this world. These two traits enable Jeremy to personify Focus On Health’s family atmosphere.
Growing up in a small town gave Jeremy the chance to be able to play sports all year round. His father introduced him to a chiropractor at the age of 14. Being a catcher in baseball and playing a lot of golf took its toll on Jeremy’s back. After many adjustments from the chiropractor he was able to feel better catching fastballs and take strokes off his golf game.
Jeremy feels that chiropractic care is a smart choice for everyone.
